Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION

I’m making my flight arrangements now. What time will the first event begin?
The Convention will kick off with an exciting general session Friday, October 24 at 8:30 a.m. Early registration will begin on Thursday, at 2:00 p.m.  Please visit the Convention microsite via myNikken.com to see the full Schedule of Events.

Where exactly will the Convention events be held?
All Convention functions will be held at the official headquarters hotel, the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. Rosen Shingle Creek is conveniently located on Universal Boulevard just off the Beachline Expressway (SR 528, Exit #2) and a half mile east of the Orange County Convention Center. This ideal location is also minutes away from Orlando's world famous attractions like Disney World® Resort, Universal Orlando® Resort, Wet‘N Wild and Sea World® Adventure Park.

What dates can I stay at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort at the group rate?
Nikken is happy to announce our discounted group rate is valid from October 17 through October 30 – available on a first come, first served basis. To take advantage of our great group room rate, reservations should be made online, using our Convention microsite. (Some of the nights before and after the convention have already sold out. If this affects your travel, please let us know via email (events@nikken.com) – we may be able to help.)

What is the attire for the Convention?
Most of the Convention functions will be “business casual,” however, cocktail or costume attire may be suggested for some of the evening festivities. Please visit the Convention microsite via myNikken.com for full details.

I have just qualified to become a President’s Club member. Are my benefits the same as an existing PC member?
First, let us congratulate you on your high achievements! Consultants qualifying to become part of the President's Club will have all the same exclusive privileges as those who have been members for years.

I need to make a change to my registration. What do I do?
If you have questions regarding your registration or need to make changes, please email the 2008 North America Convention Registration Desk at Gavel International, nikken@gavelintl.com. You may also call 800-410-0604, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Central Time.

My husband and I are planning to attend the Convention and would like to bring our two children. How do I go about this?

I am a contest winner. How will my free ticket(s) be awarded?
All Convention Contest reward winners must officially register for the 2008 Nikken North America Convention by September 30 in order to receive their rewards. Winners who register by August 15 may be entitled to additional benefits, such as the Nikken Bucks award.

Ticket prices are as follows:

August 16 – September 30      $245/person
October 1 – Convention           $295/person

Both Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment.

Free tickets are awarded in the form of a reimbursement after purchase. Contest winners who register by August 15 will be automatically reimbursed for the full cost of their free tickets(s) after the Convention Contest has ended and the winners are officially announced (mid-August). Contest winners who register after August 15 will be reimbursed in October, prior to the Convention. No forms are needed to receive reimbursement.

Qualified Consultants will be notified via email and all Contest winner names will be posted on the Rhythm of Nikken and Convention microsites.

My records show that I have already qualified for the contest, can you verify that?
Qualifying Consultants will be notified by email in mid-August, after the contest has concluded and the commissions reports are run.

I have won the Convention Contest and will be receiving two free tickets. Are there restrictions regarding who I can take to the event with me?
As long as one qualified Consultant on the winning distributorship is attending, the second ticket may be used for any Consultant or guest.

I have won two free tickets, but I don’t know who I’m bringing as my guest yet. What do I do?
In order to receive your contest rewards, you must be registered for the Convention no later than September 30. (If you register by August 15, you may be entitled to additional benefits.) If you do not know the name of your guest at the time you register, please enter “TBD” under both the last and first name guest fields. You will have until October 10 to decide who to give the ticket to; after that time, your ticket will be forfeited. To change the name of the guest from “TBD” – contact the registration desk at nikken@gavelintl.com. Please include your full name and ID number, so we can locate your original registration.

I’ve qualified for the contest, but I can’t attend the Convention. Can I give my Contest reward to another Consultant or can I receive a credit on my account?
Contest rewards are non-transferable and non-refundable. Contest rewards may only be used by the Consultant(s) listed on the winning distributorship (and a guest, if two tickets are won and only one member of the distributorship is attending).

I’ve won two nights paid hotel accommodations. How do I redeem this award?
Consultants who earned 20,000 PGV or more during the contest period must reserve their hotel room at Rosen Shingle Creek no later than September 29. Upon checkout from the hotel, the room and tax charges for Friday and Saturday nights (October 24 & 25) will be removed from your folio and reallocated to the Nikken master account. The hotel guest will be responsible for any additional nights and/or incidental charges, such as room services, movies, etc. (Although the final deadline to make your reservations is September 29, don’t delay – all rooms are on a first come, first served basis and may well sell out well before the deadline.)

I understand there’s a special hotel discount for those who register for the event and book their hotel accommodations by August 15. How does that work?
Consultants who registered for the Convention and booked their room at the official headquarters hotel, Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, are entitled to an additional discount of $25 on Friday and Saturday nights (October 24 & 25 only). Upon checkout from the hotel, $50 (or $25 if you stay only one night) will be removed from your folio and reallocated to the Nikken master account. The hotel guest will be responsible for any additional nights and/or incidental charges, such as room services, movies, etc.

How does the new Nikken Bucks promotion work?
The Nikken Bucks promotion was announced on Friday, July 25 to help contest-winning Consultants offset their travel expenses.

All contest winners who register for Convention by August 15, 2008 and submit their travel e-tineraries (air/rail/bus) by September 15, will be eligible for a generous travel reimbursement in the form of Nikken Bucks! And that’s not all – winners of one free event ticket are eligible for one Nikken Bucks award – winners of two free events tickets are eligible for two Nikken Bucks awards.

Here’s how the Nikken Bucks incentive works:

  • Those who live within a 500-mile radius* of the Convention site in Orlando will receive $250 in Nikken Bucks.
  • Those who reside beyond a 500-mile radius* will receive $500 in Nikken Bucks.
  • Winners traveling by air, rail or bus must purchase your own flight tickets**, train or bus passes by September 15, 2008 and submit a valid flight itinerary or ticket confirmation, which you’ll be asked to verify by presenting your boarding/rail/bus pass at the Convention. Email your itinerary or ticket confirmation (dated on or before September 15) to events@nikken.com. (If you are traveling by automobile/taxi, simply save your gas receipts from your outbound trip and present them at the Convention.)
  • All contest winners must attend the Convention and present proper documentation (a valid driver’s license or ID and a boarding/rail/bus pass, taxi receipt or gas receipts for dates of travel) in order to collect any Nikken Bucks awarded.

*For complete details, please see the “Travel Break for Contest Winners” article posted in the Contest area of the Convention microsite.

How will Nikken know how far I traveled to the Convention?
To determine the amount of your Nikken Bucks award, Nikken will use the your resident address on file to establish how far away you live from the Orlando Convention site. (For winners of two tickets who are bringing a guest, the second Nikken Bucks award will also be calculated based on the distance from the contest winner's residence to the Convention.)

Can I use my frequent flier miles for the flight and still receive Nikken Bucks?
If you plan to use frequent flier miles to purchase your airline tickets, you may still receive your Nikken Bucks award as long as you email us your e-tinerary clearly stating your purchase by September 15. All other Nikken Bucks rules apply.

I won two tickets and want to redeem two Nikken Bucks awards. What do I need to know about this process?
A Consultant who wins two free tickets is eligible for two Nikken Bucks awards, as long as one of the attendees is the contest winner. (Both tickets cannot be given away; all tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.)

The contest winner must register by August 15. (If redeeming two Nikken Bucks awards, the contest winner must register the person receiving the free ticket as a “guest” under his/her registration at the same time.) Appropriate travel documentation (air/rail/bus e-tinerary or ticket confirmation) must also be emailed to events@nikken.com (or faxed to 949-789-2081) by September 15.

All Nikken Bucks are credited to the contest winner’s Nikken account and all subsequent taxes (1099/T4A) will be associated with the winner’s ID number.

Nikken Bucks are non-transferable, however goods purchased using Nikken Bucks may be allocated to the contest winner’s guest – or any other recipient – at the sole discretion of the contest winner.

The guest of the contest winner may choose not to participate in the Nikken Bucks promotion – i.e., the guest may decide not to supply the contest winner with the required travel documentation necessary to redeem the second Nikken Bucks award. (This issue is solely between the contest winner and the guest.)

What do I need to bring to the Convention to redeem my Nikken Bucks?
Upon arrival at the Convention, the contest winner will present his/her ID and travel documentation (boarding pass or gas receipts) at the Nikken Bucks counter, located in the event registration area. If the winner is eligible for two Nikken Bucks awards, the winner should submit both sets of travel documentation at the same time. After check-in is complete, the winner will receive a special "Nikken Bucks Order Form" which they can fill out for product purchase only. (Standard Nikken Bucks rules and regulations will apply.) Once complete, the form may be left with the Nikken Bucks counter staff at the Convention, or the winner may take it with them and return the form via fax. No phone or online orders will be accepted. Nikken Bucks expire December 31, 2008.

Where can I find the official contest rules and regulations?
